Ok, so I gave the Death Note series a chance and enjoyed it immensely up until L died, then I lost most of my emotional investment. What are your thoughts on the matter? (I still finished it of course.)

When he died the show definately went downwards, but it was still great. Gotta say though, right before he died he was acting pretty gay.
Oh and you said you finished it right? Didja notice how in the final couple episodes Light stops time? They're in that abandoned building, and the massive fan thing behind Light creaks to a halt when he starts thinking.

Personally I was more emotionally moved when Light died, but I agree that the second half was lacklustre.

I thought the manga got sooooo boring when L died. it, like, instantly lost all the cool funny stuff and things like that...
