okay, so i am 16 year old male filipino who lived in the philippines until i was 6, i am now currently in michigan. what i want to know, is that while the philippines is geographically in asia, many of my friends tease me on "not being a true asian". what are your guys' opinions on this?

my roommate is chinese and she routinely tells me how she doesn't think filipinos are asian
what's funny is that she isn't exactly full chinese herself in a way.. her mother was born in canada, and her dad is malaysian-chinese
neither her nor her mother can speak any dialect of chinese
yet she still has enough chinese pride to say that flips are not asian
fyi - i'm not asian so this was all new to me. i always thought flips were asians too

Most people think I'm Chinese and can't distinguish where PI is located. I just embrace the title "Asian" because people in Arkansas are kind of ignorant.
Filipinos are asians if you consider malaysians and indonesians asians. Filipinos are like hybrids of malays, spanish, americans (yes there are pinoy niggers), aetas, japanese (when they raped everyone when they invaded). In the more provincial areas of the Philippines you could find caucausian settlements living there for over a millenia.

Speaking as a Filipino, Yes I believe that we are not "True asians" if you are referring "asians" as the mongol descendants. Filipinos, much like the whole south-east pacific is mostly Malay descends.
Geologically speaking they are asians. However, historically and genetically, we are not "pale to yellowish colored and Chinita".
The only thing we have in common is height and penis size.
