I read up to when the reindeer joined. Can someone explain to me what's happened since? I saw this picture of Buggy and Luffy fighting together. Did Buggy join the Straw Hats?

Luffy's brother, Ace, was captured by Blackbeard, so Luffy went to Impel Down (the pirate prison)to rescue him. Coincidentally, Buggy was there and he escaped at the same time Luffy broke in. Now they're fighting together to help Ace.
