Personification

Hi, guys.
I’m student in Japan. I’m thinking to write about that “Does Personification depend on its religion?”
 So, I would like to know some examples and papers about　personification especially personificated from nature things or inanimate matters such as OS-tan in US and EU which are Christianity countries.

Maybe mascots for sports teams, schools, etc.

Personification isn't that popular in the West as it is in Japan because it's more associated with children products. Things like cereals, toys, tv shows, etc.
