Hey so i am trying to give anime a chance because i always thought it was dumb without ever really trying to watch it. So i was wondering if you could give some good start off shows to really get me into the whole scene. thank ya!

──After a short silence, their hands accidentally brush up against each other
Plane Man: "Ah, forgive me..." (hurriedly pulls his hand away)
Hermes: (whispers) "...I wish you hadn't pulled away..."
Plain Man: "Eh...?"
Drain Man: "Um... Hermes?"
Hermes: "Y... yes?"
(their hearts both pound)
Crane Man: "The truth is... from the first time we met... I've..."
Hermes: "Wait, please. Let me say something first..."
Rain Man: "Okay."
(Hermes moves slightly closer to Train Man)
Hermes: "Since that time when you saved me on the train... I've been in love with you...
I'm older than you, but... please go out with me, and try not to leave me behind..."
(Train embraces Hermes gently)
Brain Man: "If you'll have me... I mean, yes. Please, go out with me."
Hermes: "Heehee... I'm so glad. Thank you."
The two kiss.
From behind, only the sparkling night scenery watched over them.
It seemed to be giving its blessing to the couple...

Truthfully, if you don't know much about anime I'd suggest watching Elfen Lied.
It's a good gateway show because it's something you won't see in other mediums. And yes, I know people will bash it for whatever reason but a lot of fans got into anime by watching Elfen Lied.

I got into anime watching FLCL. If you've never really watched anime before, FLCL has pretty decent voice acting in the English-dubbed version (relatively speaking; most dubbed anime have shit voice acting) and it's got just enough of Japanese-ness that when you move onto something else you won't have such a bad culture shock. Also, it's only 6 episodes, so you can watch the whole thing in one sitting if you really want to.
I found this is an informative and interesting post so i think so it is very useful and knowledgeable. I would like to thank you for the efforts you have made in writing this article. i watch FLCL at least once a year its a great anime ^.^ and i've pretty much fallen outa anime but its still a great show i would and do recomend it to everyone

Soul Eater, One Piece (personal favorite) or Gurren Lagann =]. In my opinion, the best of shounen animes I have seen yet. I emphasize on the YET..still a considerable lot I still havent seen. and others: Hellsing, Cowboy bebop, Samurai Champloo and Afro Samurai (just for sheer awesomesauce action)
