Neon Genesis Evangelion

I just started watching this and it is by the far the best anime I have ever seen.

Im usually not into anime but wow this show it amazing!

The characters act so realistic and I can mostly relate to some of them.

if not> Evangelion is not that good of an anime, its not worth your time. Angsty teens in mechas are not the way i want my world to be saved. Many anime have tried to copy the eva-style thingy until it made me awfully puke for the lack of actual content of that series.

There are series which are better, and more in-depth. If you are not the 'in-depth' kind of person then there are empty series, Neon Genesis Evangelion fails to be either a shallow series or a full, in-depth series.

My recomendation, go read the boogiepop novels, and watch the anime+manga, and smile to know you've seen something different once in a lifetime.

I just watched this, and I have to say >>2 was pretty close. Who and why were they fighting? All I could make of the bizaro last couple episodes is that it was some sort of kill or be killed deal, but then the final angel was like humans are cool so go ahead and kill me. That shit didn't make much sense.

Eva's not unbelieveably awesome, but the way Hideaki Anno manages to extract money from people is awesome. Japanese Juden amirite?!!??!?

Yeah episodes 1-20 were really good. Became one of my favorite until the ending. Even End of Evangelion boggled me.

Yeah i finished watching it recently and i think its awesome. No wonder it was so bround breaking.

It was the first anime I ever really watched besides DBZ. I loved it. I was also pretty big into LSD and stuff like that back around that time and the ending totally was a mindfuck...

The show is not about plot at all. It's about characters.

Also, you have to be able to deal with angsty mains, otherwise just pass...

Watch it for Rei. Endure every episode of Shinji's bawling and tooth-gnashing while he sits in a fetal position and Asuka's inexcusable bitching on account of her unrequited feelings just so  you can experience seeing Gainax spend an amount of money equivalent to the GDP of Laos just to have Ayanami smile.

I don't see how you can call it your favorite after only just starting. It doesn't get anywhere near being worthy of it's praise until around episode 19 or so.

Rebuild 1 comes out in November. In the meantime I suggest you look up every pic of gothloli Rei and Asuka fucking and every hentai of it in addition to all 26 episodes and the movies (there is no action after Kaworu dies but it's still as good as reading Sartre, Salinger, and Camus.  You don't really learn anything, but at least it's not angelic suicide-bombers or Rei getting blown up AGAIN (I wish Asuka would have died instead of Rei...Ritsuko killed everyone's dream-harem...).  Also, I have met Gendo's voice actor and he really is a raunchy bastard in real life.  Cool, but still really, really ecchi.  Also, look up "Shinji's Rant" and "Eva Porn" (not the actual porno, just the remixed dub that Tristan/Gendo told me about- "Bring in Rei; prepare for manual insertion!").  And to all you trolls who don't like it, just remember that ONLY angsty teens can save the universe, and not "seasoned pilots" or "martial arts masters" or anybody else (they all start as angsty teen pilots but they can keep fighting into their 20's just as porno chicks can be labeled as "teens" until they LOOK 30!)
