I support the editing of inappropriate content in anime for American distribution.
I like some cartoons, some older ones that happen to originate from Japan so I guess that they're "anime". Anime in general and especially its disrespectful and inconsiderate fans (or otakus) though are starting to annoy me. I've seen enough anime over the years from television, video rental stores, and clubs to determine that most of it is nothing but sex, violence, profanity, among other things that are contrary to family values.
Most of the stuff aired on Adult Swim isn't too bad, then again most of it is not in its uncut Japanese form. Anything rated TV-MA regardless of being anime or not is blocked on my television. I no longer like "anime" as a whole, in fact I dislike most of it.
Aside from the actual animes having questionable content, I've seen too many otakus who have no problem doing drugs, stealing, lying, violating the law of chastity, listening to Satanic music, and worshipping Satan.

well, actually for some anime, it'll ruin the whole story if one of the important scenes was edited (sample : some gore scenes in elfen lied. well that's gory enough to make your hand itching to edit it, but the character's important role in that anime revealed almost in those scenes)

If you get your values solely from animation, then somebody needs to euthanize you. And most of the stuff you named is in American entertainment as well. Face it, human beings are attracted to a lot of that stuff and always will be.

I have also been watching anime for years. And while I agree that there are many anime that are excessively sexual/violent,etc. There plenty of anime such as shugo chara, digimon, pokemon, Welcome to the NHK, peach girl, and so on that aren't that bad. It's your own problem if are watching anime that belittle your beliefs/moral values. In my experience anime has nothing to do with weather or not people are "doing drugs, stealing, lying, violating the law of chastity, listening to Satanic music, and worshipping Satan." That has more to do with their own personal beliefs/the way they were raised/and the way their mind works. It's just your own ignorance and obviously sheltered life that leads you say to such stupid things.
