Strawberry Panic!

(The exclamation mark is in the title.)

I'm sure people have seen this. It's a relatively recent anime (ended summer-fall '06) that is essentially about an all-girls school where the main characters develop "intimate lesbian relationships" with each other.

I'm up to episode 9 of 26, and I must say I'm disappointed in how long they're dragging out the pre-romantic stages between the characters--I hope the entire show isn't like that. It's almost painful. Not saying I'm expecting anything close to hentai (hint: it doesn't have any), I'm just dying to see something more than "oh i want to share an umbrella with her I hope I get to YES".

To be honest, I stopped watching after the first ep...my love for yuri was outweighed by my hate for catholicism.

In any case, I'm now on episode 14, and the romance has just really started up. True, there are two stories going on at once, but man... it was difficult sitting though all the nearly-kisses thinking "fuck, they can't POSSIBLY break this one up again... Oh, fuck you, anime. Fuck you."
