Going to the US - Where to buy stuff?

Hiya.

I'm going on a class trip to the US for 5 weeks in October, and I want to buy some anime DVD's, fantasy books... In general I wanna visit the "nerd shops" that specialize in stuff like that :)

The problem is that I don't know where to look for them. I'm going to visit Denver, Kalispell, Salt Lake City, San Fransisco, Los Angeles / Hollywood, Las Vegas and Santa Fe... That's a few of the places I'm visiting anyway. So I'm wondering if any of you fellow anonymouses has some tips as to where I might find that kind of stores? If they have a website or road descriptions or anything like that, it would be a major plus.

Good thing you can now pay the customs for US imports directly in the store. And then, if you're unlucky, pay them again when customs in your own country finds the goods.
