As to your argument, just because you can't stop something wrong, doesn't mean you shouldn't try. Murders happen, does that mean we should legalize them? Child molestation is a wrong, and CP involves the violation of a child in creating it. You can debate what the proper age of consent should be (I for one think it should be somewhat lower than it is - 12 or 13, perhaps), but the fact remains that there needs to be one. Furthermore, lolicon != CP or pedophillia. The U.S. Supreme Court said so already in 2002. The relevant section of Amber Alert was unconstitutional *before* it was even passed (which is one of the reasons *my* congressman voted against it). The minor *must* exist for it to be CP, end of story.
