Manga is more superior than anime

Name: Anonymous 2006-05-06 1:33

It's true. Unless the manga is an adaption of the the anime. :*

Name: Anonymous 2006-05-06 1:55

Like Evangelion, amirite?

Name: Anonymous 2006-05-06 3:46

like gantz,dragon quest,one piece,hajime no ippo.etc

Name: Anonymous 2006-05-06 23:08

agreed~!

Name: Anonymous 2006-05-07 10:55

But not all of the anime have a manga, so one cannot say that it is universally law. The one that was made first, be it the manga or the anime, is the superior one on that series.

Name: Anonymous 2006-05-07 11:39

Well if anything, the manga version tends to have a longer plot.  Too often the anime series ends at wherever episode 26 happens to be and not at a proper arc ending.

Name: Anonymous 2006-05-07 11:57

I like how time passes in manga.  It passes at exactly how fast you want to go from panel to panel.  Anime cannot do this.

Name: Anonymous 2006-05-07 12:45

Yeah. Some anime don't have good pacing.

Name: Anonymous 2006-05-07 12:46

There isn't enough seinen anime `~`

Name: Anonymous 2006-05-07 13:47

Anime shows more of the action, and the pictures are movin'.

Name: Anonymous 2006-05-07 16:42

i like anime more. maybe cuz u can get it for free more easily and u see more of the action. also im lazy =p

Name: Anonymous 2006-05-08 10:23

Manga is often better than the anime. But it depends on the viewer too.
Personally I don't have much free time, so I enjoy anime more. But of course I read manga too and I must say that manga can give more, because there's more space to develop the plot and it needs your imagination to bring it to life. And the anime version usually just a fraction of the manga's story.
For example: Video Girl AI - the 6 episodes of the anime only made from the first 3 volumes of the manga. There's a lot of characters who doesn't even appear in the anime and the story is just a little piece of the whole.
But when I read the manga I felt like I was watching the anime as the images got animated in my mind. ^_^

Name: Anonymous 2006-05-09 2:28

i think it depends on the series too.  sometimes it's confusing for me to try and understand action scenes in a manga--but i usually prefer manga to anime too

Well this is because the production companies run out of money and have to end it abruptly. *AHEM*Love Hina*AHEM*

I blame korea

Name: Anonymous 2006-05-09 10:29

If action-based anime is clearly superior, but if not then often manga is often better. Manga has big advantage over anime that anyone can do it and commercial succes doesn't really matter, although there's lot of totally overcommercialized shounen manga... In case of hentai, manga is almost always better, because hentai animes(exception being certain early 90s and 80s interesting flicks like Urotsukidoji and old loli-animes) really suck.

Name: Anonymous 2006-05-09 22:19

>>16

not necessarily. i'd rather read the fight scenes in the typical shonen jump manga than watch the anime equivalent. low-budget shows rarely do their source material any justice.

Name: Anonymous 2006-05-09 22:32

Jojo manga --> Jojo anime.

The manga is clearly a trillion times better.

Name: Xenos 2006-05-10 8:10

Screw manga and anime, the book usually is better than the movie/series. Of course, you also have to account for the experience of watching something filmed on a screen vs reading something in a book.

One example I can think of where I liked both just about the same is Planetes. They were rather different too, but I enjoyed both.  While not manga, I gotta say the Hellboy movie was great even if it was different.

Negima Manga >>> Negima Anime
Haruhi Anime >>> Haruhi Manga(old)

Name: Anonymous 2006-05-14 21:48

>>20
But what's better for Haruhi? The anime or the novels?

Name: Anonymous 2006-05-14 23:42

Novels are far more superior than manga.

Name: Anonymous 2006-05-14 23:50

>>22
Only if the manga is based off the novel :*

Name: Anonymous 2006-05-15 23:23

Name: Anonymous 2006-05-22 23:56

Yes I'm talking that anime The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. It fucking sucks. Now it's pretty popular among the anime circles, and yet this poor excuse for an animated feature is the worst thing ever produced by a human being if you except Plan 9 from Outer Space, and I'm being generous.

First you gotta admit you hated the first episode. It made no sense, sucked as shit, wasn't funny, edgy or new. Or original. Animation sucked dead dogs' balls. Characters sucked dead dogs' balls. Voice actiong sucked dead dogs' balls. But you managed to make it through the whole pile of steaming poo just to see the ED. BEcause that's what this anime is about. It's about the ED. Those 1 minute and a half. There's nothing else to it. You went like "OMG ANIMATION LIEK" you freaking retards and now everyone likes it. Yet it's shit. It's complete shit with no redeeming qualities. There's fucking nothing to it. Just the dance at the end. It's a dancing anime. A fucking retarded danxcing anime with no story and nothing and no characters it sucks. You shouldn't like it you morons seriously. Just download the ED and loop it on your WMP you cockass faggot asses. DAMN I wish all those threads about HARUHI OMG YEAH would go one and everyone in them die FUCK YOU for polluting my forums HARUHI FUCK YOU.

AND NO IT'S NOT A COPY PASTA I'VE JUST TYPED THIS WHOLE THING.

THIS MAN SPEAKS PURE TRUTNESS

Name: Anonymous 2006-11-13 16:45

Hentai Anime (animated rape scene, etc) > Hentai Manga

so your statement Manga  > Anime is wrong

Name: Anonymous 2006-11-15 6:01

It boils down to how much content vs 'pretty' you're looking for.

Books have by far the most content, manga can have a decent amount of content, anime takes 13 hours to show you what's in 2 chapters of a book... albeit for those who lack an imagination, stick with anime :p books'll just give you a headache.

Name: Anonymous 2006-11-15 12:04

atualy it only takes about 10 minutes to read a chapter

The Evangelion Anime is 10 times better than the manga. The whole point of evangelion is that Shinji is meant to be a spinless wimp.

Dunno if it was mentioned already, but I think the Anime of Kodomo No Omocha was superior to the manga, by far. And I kinda liked the Fruits Basket anime better, too. Akitarou Daichi's cool.

Name: Anonymous 2006-11-24 15:22

Kodomo No Omocha!
It's not only a Shojo Manga(means for girs) but also a minor
work,I thought.Fruits Basket is Shojo Manga too.
I can't understand how could you saw such  works.
In Fruits Basket, there are 12shi(or eto=干支),could you understand?

Dunno=The Eva's superviser? If it's not writen on kanji,I can't get hold on correct meanings.
Your Japanese is very well.

Name: Anonymous 2006-11-24 16:18

I'm a girl! And I liked Kodocha and Furuba because they're cute and funny. I know many guys who like them as well, especially Kodocha.

うん、フルバの12shi(漢字が分かんない)のことは大体分かる。漫画もすこし読んだからね。アニメの方が面白かったけど、やっぱり。hey,わたしの日本語の勉強すこし役に立ったらしい。 話せるよ!すごい!

ちなみに、"Dunno" は "I don't know" の意味。 ^^

Yes,Like a Kodocha,Shojo mangas are liked by many japanese guys too,but in japan, reading shojo manga is enbarrassed for guys in public.
Dunno=I don't know! Slangs are very difficult.
12shi=十二支.子丑寅卯辰巳午未申酉戌亥(ne,ushi,tora,u,tatsu,mi,uma,hitsuji,saru,tori,inu,i)
(mouse,bull,tiger,rabbit,dragon,snake,horse,sheep,monkey,chiken,dog,boar)
