In your opion what are some good dubs.  Mine would have to be read or die, I think it even won some sort of award for excelent dubs.  My second pick would have to be Cowboy Bebop.

Not really. For me at least. Whenever I could, I would always prefer to watch movies or tv shows in their native language. Spanish and chinese/HK movies, korean and japanese tv shows.  It's just that I feel something is always lost in the translation. Tranlations for subs are hard enough to accomplish with accuracy. But for dubs, they have to fit the words to the mouth movements as well. I imagine they have to sacrifice the accuracy a lot, just so it won't look awkward.

For some of you it seems this has turned into a "It's a weeboo, get him!" thread. Let me tell you guys something, It may change your outlook. Ever watch Friends or Seinfeld dubbed in japanese? IT'S NOT FUNNY. Even the mighty Southpark and The Simpsons totally fail! All the "enhusiasm" of japanese seiyuu really didn't fit these shows. Cartman is voiced by a girl, Phoebe's voice is the "old woman/witch" archtype, Kramer's is the "monkey/agile bad-guy" archtype, and -god-forbid Homer's voice ain't that far off that episode when his face is used on a japanese commerial.

Worst Japanese Dub I've heard was for Beverly Hill 90210. Remember that blonde jock guy? the one with curly hair? His voice was the totally low-pitched "big guy/tough guy/black guy" archtype. If your eyes were closed, you'd think you're watching anime.
