Two different Inuyashas?

Name: Anonymous 2006-03-21 19:56

Inuyasha is weird, it's like he has a split personality.
When he's around Kagome and the rest of the gang, he's rude, violent, jealous, childish, stupid, whiny, a general all around brat with a mental age around 12 (he'd fit right in on 4chan).

When he's around Kikyou, he's caring, sensitive, serious, affectionate, mature and honest about his feelings. Mental age around 25.

Which one is the real Inuyasha, I wonder? I thought he might be just putting an act for Kikyou, but maybe it's the other way round and he puts on an act around his friends instead?

Ever care to think that perhaps the two inu yasha's are just simply different sides of a singular personality? That indeed, both are real and he just simply switches them when he feels like it calls for it.

Watch more GitS and call me in the mornin'

Oh and to you trolls (yeah, >>2 I mean you) Rumiko Takahashi was makin high-quality anime b4 you were even in diapers. Now get back to you low-quality, loli anime before your foot ends up in your mouth.

I have yet to see quality anything that came from Rumiko Takahashi's cancer infested womb.

Mermaid saga was pretty good.

>>5 I've thought of that, it's just that the different is HUGE. Even if he's switching between 2 different sides of his personality, it begs the question WHY? Sure he probably couldn't be bratty Inuyasha around Kikyou cos she'd smack him down like nobody's business, but if he would be more serious, thoughtful and mature around his team mates everything would go so much better.

>>7 Mermaid Saga and some of her one-shots. I read Maison Ikkoku from beginning to end in a few days, but I didn't really like it much. Early Ranma was good too, before the act it got old.

Don't forget, he does have a reputation for being tough and to him, he has to be. He had a troubled childhood (Who didn't?) but from then he knew he had to act tough in order to survive.

A reputation from where? He has a reputation for being a brat, that's what. He's not tough at all.

His father was known as being powerful and ferocious so naturally, the son has a need o be big and tough like his father.

Inuyasha has implied that he was bullied in his youth. That maybe explains why he puts up that "don't-care" attitude and acts all bratty around his team mates in the beginning. It's strange that he still keeps the act up, even around Kagome 90% of the time. Maybe he doesn't trust them fully yet.

That's part of what I was trying to say in >>9 and >>11. Thanks!

It's just in the writing.  stupid things = comedy, they never go into comedy mode when Kikyo's there.

The ending was retarded.  NOTHING got resolved.

because he's emo, duh

The manga is still going on.

Still it's a little weird, isn't it? It's like the whole comic is one big joke and when Kikyou shows up they're like: Pause, joke over. Then when she goes away it's back to square one. I'd like to see more of serious Inuyasha, I feel like we haven't gotten to really know him even in 38 volumes because we don't know what he really thinks about anything, or what really motivates him any more.

And now it looks like Kikyou's going to bite it. The end of an era. :(

Don't change these.
