diamond (big US distributor) buys these figures in LARGE numbers, enough to occupy a shelf or two in specialty stores around the country. given that, i would estimate that there are more of these figures in the states than there are in japan. the flcl figures in your average comic shop have been sitting there for years. because they buy so many of the kaiyodo figures, and because the comic shop market won't pay $30 action figures when american figures run 10-15 at the worst, they're actually consistently cheaper than what you would get them for from japan. this happens with most figures, except for gundam fix toys which ship in unecessarily huge goddamn boxes that must cost a fortune to ship.

if it were even still in production, it'd run you $40 shipped.
