"GEDO Senki" is directed by Goro Miyazaki. He is Hayao Miyazaki's son. This film is maiden work for Goro and he doesn't have concrete accomplishment. To tell the truth,this selection is fraught with succession probrem in STUDIO GHIBLI. In this studio,Hayao Miyazaki is very influential for production. Besides,predominant successor named Yoshihumi Kondo(a directer of "Mimi wo Sumaseba" )died prematurely. At last,the only person who can make film independently was Goro Miyazaki as a son of the intrusive father. This idea is native to Japan. I think we can expect "Gedo Senki" with anticipation because Anime Production is divided so detailed

Pros -

1. A Wizard of Earthsea is a great book.
2. Hayao Miyazaki was running out of steam.

Cons -

1. Howl's Moving Castle might have been the worst Ghibli movie to date.
2. Nobody knows how good Goro is.

Howl's Moving Castle was a complete meltdown for me too. I want to think it was because they had problems with production like the first choice director leaving and Miyazaki filling in last minute than him losing his director's touch.
