Question about The End Of Evangelion

When Shinji is alone in the emergency room with Asuka after he's done calling for help from her, there is a moment were the screen pans all around the room and you hear Shinji's breath become quite rough but still low, then it shows his hand with some sort of fluid on it, personally I think that he was masturbating while Asuka was passed out, and some of the dialouge in the movie would only add substance to prove my point, but one of my friends thinks that the stuff in Shinji's hands was either tears or sweat.

Wasn't the setup at EoE supposed to be an allegory to Adam and Eve?

I thought that Asuka was alive at the end and the had to reproduce to make more people. I have no idea why Shiji would choke Asuka if that was the case...
