When Shinji is alone in the emergency room with Asuka after he's done calling for help from her, there is a moment were the screen pans all around the room and you hear Shinji's breath become quite rough but still low, then it shows his hand with some sort of fluid on it, personally I think that he was masturbating while Asuka was passed out, and some of the dialouge in the movie would only add substance to prove my point, but one of my friends thinks that the stuff in Shinji's hands was either tears or sweat.

I disagree with poster 10 on the subject of taking the series away from anno. He is a great creative mind; episodes 25 and 26 are not the product of "writers block" - EoE was Anno's intended 25 and 26 (we know this because we see stills of ritsuko and misato dead in their EoE positions) - what happened was, his funding was cut. The man poured his heart and soul into the Eva project, and then his funding was cut. Look at episode 24. It leads into 25EoE just perfectly, but with funding cut---> "Wow, Shinji broke~ let us examine this for 2 episodes. 1 person can probibly draw THAT"
Fuck the Fan community to sending the guy hatemail. The people who complained about 25-26 DESERVE to see the objects of their lust brutally murdered. They were living in Anno's world; then they tried to tell Anno that "in his world; there just isnt enough Asuka fanservice"
Anno is a vengeful god. I wouldnt go as far as to say he was "fucked up in the brain" for EoE (Lilith-Rei), scenes like that are unique and memorable. EoE is torture that you suffer in the search for closure.
