Honey and Clover

Shot in the dark but anyone else following this series?

I didn't bother with any of the shows this year but there was a Honey and Clover wallpaper thread on 4ch and the art caught my eye.  Interested me enough to grab an episode and have enjoyed what I've seen of it since.

In a way, it feels like a Genshikan of the drama genre, in that light hearted self-parodying way.  The love story is pretty much light shoujo fair but the comedy itself tends to be more clean-cut shounen/otaku style than shoujo.  (All relatively speaking of course).  The art is pretty up there too, very nice and soft palette.

I would recommend this series to anyone who enjoyed Marimite and wouldn't mind a much less serious drama series.  I hesitate to categorise this series as shoujo though, it seems more like a light-shoujo series made for guys.

It was printed in a shoujo magazine and as a poster commented the manga is shoujo-style artwork.  Nonetheless the story is told through a male lead character which makes it feel less girly.  Anyone who likes drama-romance anime (ie. Kare Kano) should enjoy Honey & Clover.  Sadly I dont think the story will go past 1 season but im hoping it will.
