anyone else horribly disappointed at the ending?
I really LOVED the second half of the 26 eps, but the ending was so...cliché and happy. They build up this delicious mood, and then they mess it all up in the last ep. Shame :(

The second half was forced and lame. You can't take a cutesy moe show and suddenly turn it into angsty drama and think anyone cares. Saged.

Maybe it was an angsty drama, with forced cutsey moeness.
I think the first episode did well in establoshing what kind of show it was going to be. It is neither purely comedic nor purely dramatic, rather it sits in between (Although it reacheed both extremes, melodrama, and fanservicey entertainment, devoid entirely of seriousness.)
Persnally I loved the episodes that focused on drama and character growth, as opposed to the more pointless episodes.
Yeah the last episode was rubbish. The second series had better rectify it!

I guess I'll speak up for the last episode. I don't think there was any question -- given that this WAS trying to be a cute/silly series in too many spots -- that no matter how dark it got, a big reset button was going to be pushed at the end. I thought their particular choice of reset button was a pretty good one -- not wildly original, but decently telegraphed and appropriate -- and once they finished the battle... well, to me the last fifteen minutes felt like 'Thank you for slogging through this dark emotional plotline with us. All done now. Here, have a lollipop!'. And you know, I like lollipops. :P
