American licensing reports from Katsucon

"At their Katsucon panel today, Media Blasters announced that they hold the rights to the Oh! My Goddess TV series, Genshiken, Hinotori, and a 3-part OVA called Phantom. John Sirabella said that he believed that they also has the rights for Kujibiki Unbalance, but has to double check."

Rumor suggests that Media Blasters doesn't suck as much now, but I wouldn't believe it.

Also, Bandai now have Panda-Z; I hope they release it on credit card DVDs or something.

Hopefully AnimeYuki and AnimeOne will continue to release AMG until it's actually available. I am under the impression that Solar will stop.

In any case, I'm noticing a trend toward earlier licensing announcements. I bet this is done by the licensees to quash the distribution of fansubs...
