Help trying to name this anime movie....errr

Well bear with me if you will, trying to find this anime movie I saw back in the day. It's kind of driving me nuts, I'll try to give you the plot as best I can. I don�t remember much about it, but it had extremely gory fight scenes and the style was a lot like Ninja Scroll.

The beginning starts out as a flash back of the main character. He's a pompous samurai who fights needlessly for his own pride killing who ever wishes to fight him. His father (also a samurai/lord) doesn�t like this and confronts him on it, which breaks down in to a big fight scene. The father takes the kids eye so he can never fight again and banishes him.

That�s the only part I can vividly remember, he goes on to fight demons. I always thought it was ninja scroll, but having just watched that I can say it isn�t. Although the plot/art is eerily the close.

Ninja Resurrection (Revenge of Jubei)

Ninja Resurrection had the same name of the main character in Ninja Scroll, and event he same title font, but both are completely unrelated.  It's been criticised for trying to make people think it's a sequel to Ninja Scroll when it isn't.  I thought it had some decent concepts, but was way too short, and lacked a conclusion.
