Name that anime

I remember this as a kid.  A girl, a guy, and a dog are being chased in some kind of geometric land where everyone is made of blocks.  They try to escape, but get turned into block people and fall down a pit.  The end.

Also, the episode in Excel Saga where Ilpallazo shoots her from the tower and tramples her body with a horse is actually from some anime, my friend says.  Anyone know what?

everything in excel saga is from some anime. the purpose of ES is to make fun of all the other anime out there.
