You can count on a good number of new anime releases to make it here. But what about older stuff that's never made it here? Or even new stuff that hasn't had any indication of being picked up? What would you like to see brought over?

I hope Hikaru no Go makes it over here eventually. I guess it's a hot property and more expensive than US distributors would like to pay, but I'd like to have some DVDs of it. Maybe if it did really well over here, more episodes could even be made... it's not like go was really popular with kids in Japan before HnG or anything. Hopefully it hasn't just fallen into the same boat as HxH; too popular, and thus expensive, in Japan to risk a US release. Maybe if HxH even finishes we'll get a release of that, too.

HxH is great, you guys want anime? It will get bad before it even makes it to Europe. I mean the US version of One Piece can't even have any violence nor alcohol. That's just creepy.

I want to old super robot classics, like Getter Robo, Mazinger Z, Great Mazinger, UFO Robo Grendizer, etc.
The problem is... how would a company release them?
While the idea of buying all of Mazinger Z rocks my socks, how does a company release and market a 92 episode show from the 70's, and is there even a real market for it that would make it worth releasing?

You could show it on CN for a while for exposure, release small boxsets, and then one ultimate bookshelf sized boxset.
Anyway, I think old anime's going to continue to get small fan-aimed releases, stuff like the Macross boxes and the Z Gundam box and I'm sure somebody else can name something else.
Also what happened to the Angel's Egg license? I was looking forward to that being released over here for years.

A lot of those series has been released in the west, dubbed however. Still got quite a few tapes of Italian series laying around, but this was way beyond DVDs. It'd be nice to see it being released anew.

I think the movies might have been in the past. Pretty sure the series never was though (understandably, since it's huge, 100+ episodes)

I remember back in '98, I thought Sailormoon S, Super S, and Stars would never make it to the USA. I thought the Famicom classic Justbreed would never recieve a translation patch. I thought the Subaru WRX and Mitsubishi EVO would never be street legal the USA. I thought Americans would have to be content to shit into conventional crappers.
I was waiting and waiting for the original series Gundam DVDs, and then they released them as dub-only. Not buying that nonsense. End of story.

Original Gundam won't be released forever even in Japan, because of some copyright troubles.

Oh, Votoms has been licensed, too.

Gorg's been licensed but it's been a long time since that announcement, and I don't know what Bandai intends to do with it.
Votoms was supposed to get a remasterd release with commentary by Takahashi on every episode, which would be MAD HOT, but that's another thing I haven't heard anything about. Plus it's CPM. So yeah.
Funnily enough marginal series have been licensed this year. Ones I really wanted:
Slam Dunk for one
Princess Tutu for another
So maybe we can get some other things to the US or Europe at some point?

Look at www.animesuki.com :P They only list unlicenced anime, so you can get an idea of what hasn't been licenced for a long time. I see Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne and Masaru-san not licenced.. both are pretty old now.

Umm.. Condor Hero is licensed. And originally IIRC it was from china.

Condor Hero is out, actually.
The list can be summed up pretty quickly.. but there are glaring ones that should be here that aren't - Slam Dunk and Touch are clearly the biggest two.
What about the Dear Boys love?

Hmm, Stuff I would love to see Licensed also things that probably will never be licensed:
Kanon (been a long time)
Ebichu (no way in heck it would survive editing/translation without losing all its flavor)
Beck (just a matter of time)
AMG (tv series on now, matter of time)
Hikaru No Go (great series, not really into 'sports' anime but this one grabbed me)
Aishiteruze Baby (very touching story, might be too 'soft' to make it in the male driven anime market)
Mai Hime (matter of time)
Tenshi no Konamaiki (might be misspelled, Good story, inconsistant artwork, manga coming out here, might make it over eventually)
One thing that I really liked but I know will never make it over here isn't exactly anime, but it is based off anime, the live action shows of both GTO and Gokusen, both are excellent shows and hilarious

In addition to the SD Gundam OAVs, I want someone to license GaoGaiGar... that show is real fun to watch.

Also, the chinese literature is much much better.
Yang Guo quietly opened the window and slipped inside the room of the two Taoists, and saw two bags on the bed, he lifted one up and felt its weight, there were about twenty taels of silver and thought, “Just what I need for travelling expenses.” He took it and placed it into his pocket. The other bag was around four feet long; it was two long swords. He took each one out separately and heavily snapped the two swords, and placed it back into their sheath, he then wrapped the swords up. He was about to leave the room when another thought crossed his mind, he took off his trousers and urinated all over the two Taoists' quilt and covers.
He heard the sounds of someone climbing up a wall, and knew that the Taoists’ lightness kung fu were very ordinary, they weren’t able to clear the wall in a single leap, they had to first climb up on top of the wall and then leap down. He quickly darted back into his room, quietly closing the window. The Taoists did not notice anything. Yang Guo placed his ear against the wall to hear what was happening. He heard the Taoists quietly talking, they seemed to think that victory in tomorrow’s duel was in their grasp, they were undressing when suddenly Pi Quan Xuan called out, “Hey, Why are the blankets damp and wet? Ah, it stinks, apprentice brother Ji, why are you so lazy, wetting yourself on the blankets?"
Ji Qing Xu spat out, “What wetting themselves?” He picked up the blanket and called out, “When did a stinking cat urinate here?”
Pi Quan Xuan said, “How can a cat urinate so much?”
Ji Qing Xu said, “Hmm, that’s strange, where’s our money?” Suddenly the room was turned upside down as the two searched for their money. Yang Guo sniggered.
