Anyone know anything about the new FMP series?  I thought the first one was pretty good, but never saw Fumoffo.  Any thoughts?

They better make it like Fumoffo, that's the best of the two, first series was a rather lame shounen action hack job

Second Raid will be a second season to the first FMP series. Fumoffu was only a 'funny moments from the manga' series and had nothing worthwhile plotwise. So expect more lame shounen action.

Yes, Fumoffo was better.

I object. While Fumoffu was better, i think s1 was also really good. I'm really pleased they'll continue the story line !

Fumoffu is like the loud funny fat guy at a party. He gets laughs for a while until you just wish he'd shut the hell up.

Half of it's episodes are hilarious but half are lame, unfunny shit which relies on the characters devolving into utter morons.

Second Raid however is based on the FMP Owaru Day By Day novels, which is the serious side of the series and continues on from where the novels the first series were based off ended, so the idiot humor will hopefully be kept to minimal levels.

It had better have less filler than the first one. The #1 problem with the first was lack of focus and senseless filler.

If you're going the story angle, don't water it down. >:(

The best part of the original Full Metal Panic was that the storyline was gripping, the editing was clean and sharp, and the production values for animation were incredible - but what really did it was the fact that it effortlessly juggled the humor with the gravity, and created an epic, memorable, and all-around good experience. I watched almost all the episodes in a marathon, and thoroughly loved every second of it.

Fumoffu, however, was just too off-the-wall and, sadly, a bit childish for my tastes. While a good number of the jokes were really, really funny, it ended up being for the most part little more than a series of 20-minute long omakes, and really had very little replay value to me. However I will say that the opening sequence was absolutely incredible, and it moved me emotionally (it was like seeing old friends, even though I saw Fumoffu less than two days after I finished the original FMP).

So I'm very happy that the new series will be based on the same premise as the first one.

How many episodes is The Second Raid scheduled for?  If this season is going to be mostly serious I hope they at least leave room for a couple Fumoffu stlye filler episodes.

And I really, really hope that Gauron isn't in it.

I liked both FMP and FMPF, but what bugged me about FMP is the lack of explanation on some thing like the black technologies and what exactly is a whispered(more then just someone who has knowledge of the BT in their brain).

That's something that I was wondering about too. Hopefully that will be explained in the new series-- since they obviously made new books they must have planned to keep it a DRAMATIC SECRET for a while.

So what are the Black Technologies and the Whispered about? Aliens beaming secrets into unborn childrens brains?

That's what I was thinking of at first. Maybe I should read some of the manga for more help.

Was the girl rescued in the first episode of FMP ever explained?

FullMetal Panic first season anime only covered the first part of a much broader story line.  You wouldn't expect a book to give you the whole explination and answer the whole plot in the first two chaptres, would you?

There's going to be a new series that continues from the first one? Man I'm out of the loop on everything. The second season was funny but I really liked the first season so I can't wait to see this.
