Yotsubato!

I heard a rumor that Yotsubato! is being picked up by someone in America. Is this true? If so I'll not bother buying the Japanese manga and ruining my brain with translation.

You're late to the game, man. Yotsubato was very recently licensed by ADV and it's been scanlated for months prior to that. I'm not really looking forward to it, merely cause I'm worrying about the consistency of the translation (Pants Man could become Underwear Man or something dumb like that)

Even though it'll take years to get to where it is now.

Not necessarily. ADV didn't take long to get all of Azumanga out the door (admitted four volumes isn't a lot but still)

ADV are always slower to bring things out to the UK, though. (Azumanga Daioh #4 isn't even out here yet.) In doing so, I think they risk people simply downloading the fansubs, or buying the cheap (and less profitable) American box sets (works fine on a computer, though not on most UK DVD player / TV setups). Or, people may get bored and forget about it and then never buy it.

ADV did horrible things to Azumanga Daioh...
The supressed Kaorin's crush on Sakaki, with only an explicit mention in the translator's notes in vol. 4. Shame on their clever censorship in order to attract a more mainstream audience. Shame on a profit corporation for trying to make a profit.
BTW, does tripcode work in here?

I thought it was quite obvious to see that Kaorin's infatuation with Sakaki was more than just admiration, even from just reading the English version. I'm just kinda miffed that they didn't properly translate the first two books.
