Worst anime

Since I am very original and everyone's starting "favorite blahblah"-threads, I thought we'd need to rant about the series that really sucks too.


The worst one I've seen is probably Pugyuru. The CGs and animations were crap, the character-design sucked, and the voice actors didn't do a good job either. Not at all.

Puni Puni Poemi will forever haunt my nightmares. I know what they were trying to do with it, but my God I thought they failed miserably. And I expected so much more. :(

I would almost vouch Lain, but that at least had ONE redeeming point.

As far as what was wrong with PPP, there really wasn't anything. The problem comes when you expect it to be another Excel Saga, and you get another episode 26, except it's an hour long. Goes to show that Nabeshin was right, and people are desensitized very quickly to the type of stuff shown in episode 26, and it just won't be funny any longer.

worst Anime ever? np..MD Geist. It's stupid, has no plot and whoever likes meaningless splatter movies should watch it...

M.D. Geist is the second worst anime; this is widely confirmed, although nobody can decide what the first worst is.

The worst thing I've ever watched is "Agatha Christie's Detectives Poirot and Marple", which was written by a team of people who have never read a mystery novel or met a Belgian or Englishman. It can't compare to Spectral Force or Weiss Kreuz or Space Photon Sailer Odin, though.

Puni Puni Poemi is a masterpiece!

I haven't seen it myself, but I hear Mission Outer Space Srungle was pretty terrible. It's one half of Macron 1. Then again, Goshogun is the other half and it's considered great.

There is an anime I saw a long time ago, rented from Blockbuster. All I can remember is that it had the most terrible fight scene ever. Two shirtless guys standing across from each other with a spotlight background punch each other, then kick each other the exact same way. Then the camera circles around them and it repeats once more, and fight is over. If anyone can identify this terrible OVA (I think), please say so.

PPP and Lain are both good, especialy Lain, but it's very special.
But on to the topic, I place my vote on Blue gender, i just plain sucks

I remember something similar from Blockbuster. These two guys punch each other, and one of them puts his fist through the other guy's skull. But since the other guy is his friend, he has to give his last words to the guy. With a fist in his skull. Stupid.

I wana beleive Yumeria was bad because anime freaks or whoever translated it, but even so it looks just terrible. It's based off an H game, right?

You all dont seem to know the meaning of bad anime. That or you need to see more. Happy World gets my vote for the worst. Its bad as in art style, animation, story, characters. Its horrible by ecchi standards, which are pretty low to begin with. They decided to kill it after three episodes. Its so ridiculously bad that it just makes me want to hit my head into something over and over.

Yumeria had good animation and art (Mizuki looked really hot in her pink-striped swimsuit), but the storyline REALLY REALLY sucked.

It's not based off on an H-game, it's based off a PS2 game that's non-H. Also, there's a PC benchmark that uses the PS2's rendering engine (which is pretty awesome, actually) to benchmark your 3D video. Google for 'YumeBench'. =)

I liked Dominion Tank Police. Admittedly this was when I was only getting into anime, and I haven't seen it since.

Dominion ages poorly, but it's fundamentally reasonably OK.

Panzer Dragoon

They're all veritable symphonies of animated shit.

MD Geist has been mentioned multiple times, so I nominate Genocyber. Panzer Dragoon was bad, but it was only a 30 minute 1-shot, so at it was over quick.

This thread needs more Voltage Fighters Gowkaizer, Battle Arena Toshinden and Crystal Triangle. These shows are similar in quality to the likes of M.D. Geist and Tekken. I would say Crystal Triangle is probably the worst of them all. St. Lumnious Mission High School, Raimuro Senkitan and Kokoro Library each deserve dishonorable mention.


Akane Maniax is awesome.

Rizelmine is the worst ever. An android stuck at the age of 8 unless she gets love, so she is married to some 12 year old kid who only likes older women (His teacher). Catch is, when Rizel cries, her tears are made of Nitro Glycerine... Lolifest ensues (including 1 episode about her trying to get him to fuck her)

Here in America, we live in a climate of moral decay. What is the cause of this? It is called "anime". Anime is a perverse, evil, insiduous form of animation from the dark land of Japan, and is corrupting America's youth at unprecedented rates. Here are a few examples of anime which are circulating on the Internet and may very well be in your home:

1) Ah My Goddess: A sick and disgusting show which causes children under the age of 18 to think they are capable of love. The main female character is clearly under 18, and is forced into a romantic relationship by an older man who "wishes" for her to be his girlfriend forever. He even KISSES her, and she appears NAKED. That poor girl must be so confused.

2) Love Hina: I'm not even going to mention the unspeakable, disgusting, pedophilic, pornograhpic events which transpire during this show, but suffice it to say, groups of young men on Love Hina-fueled rampages are raping children at a level unheard of since the 60s.

Evangelion, by far the worst I've seen. Excellent animation, but storyline just fell flat.

Had the makings of a great anime, but just didn't seem to go anywhere.

Evangelion was the worst fucking anime I've ever seen. There wasn't a single episode of it that wasn't orgasming all over itself over how MYSTERIOUS and RELIGIOUS it was. If it wasn't such a cruddy piece of badly drawn mecha-centric shit, maybe it might have had some reedeming qualities. Because if it had those redeeming qualities, they would have been around to be cancelled out by all the spectacular Christian idiocy! But no, it had nothing. And for all that, the director dared to produce two meaningless, "mysterious" extra episodes after he ran out of money because he thought his anime was so great.

You're underestimating how bad an anime can be. Evangelion obviously had some good points if you didn't try to pretend anything was meant to make sense, or there wouldn't be so many Rei fans. There are plenty of shows that don't even have accidental comedic value, like Happy Lesson. I'm sure even DBZ has some sequences that are OK.
