What does it mean to love?
When did love turn into something so complex? Does love have to involve money? Where is the simple form of “being happy because we’re together”, “caring for one another”, “trusting one another”, and “forgiving one another”? Why cheat on someone when you have already “chosen” someone you love? Isn’t the point of “dating” to know and understand each other better? Is love another form of friendship? Why does one need official documentation or recognition from society for expressing love towards an individual?

Why so much hate?
Why do we hate? Is it because someone has done something bad to us? Or because a certain event didn’t happen as you had hoped? What happened to forgiveness?  Even if it’s an unforgivable crime, does it give us the right to take away someone’s life? Does such a crime pass onto their offspring’s? Does it pass onto their race? Does it pass on to their nationality? When does the cycle of hate end? Aren’t we fighting our enemies to protect our loved ones? Are our enemies fighting us to protect their loved ones as well?

Why hold a grudge?
Aren’t our eyes born to look forward, and not to be fixed on the past? What makes an event unforgivable? Isn’t it common knowledge that once something has happened, regardless of what you do, it can’t be fixed? Isn’t it common sense that holding a grudge just leads to more grudges? Why be fixated on the bad things, and not look at the good things? Isn’t history an absolute neutral series of statements, with no opinions from the observer themselves? Why pass on the sadness to other generations, when it’s just as good to “tell” and “notify”, and let them decide for themselves on what opinion to take? Why fill yourself with grudge and hate when it will only make the wound bigger and harder to heal? Why drag in the future with you and your past?

Why can’t we treat everyone equally?
Why treat people differently when we’re all just flesh and blood under the skin? Why determine a person’s personality just by their appearance? If everyone was blind, would we treat others any differently? Aren’t names given to us so we can identify ourselves as one individual, and not a race or ethnic group? Why are some people treated unequally even if they haven’t done anything wrong? Shouldn’t a person’s actions be credited towards that person alone, and not that person’s skin color, family, party, nationality or belief?

What does it mean to be smart?
Do good grades mean someone is smart? Do SAT’s, GRE’s or GPA’s? What’s the difference between being smart and being knowledgeable? Does smart mean being able to memorize all 50 states of USA? Or the person who solves world hunger, would he be considered smart? Is being smart something that you have to be born with, or can you eventually “obtain” it? How come (current?) education tends to guide students to pursue grades instead of knowledge? Why does it cost so much to obtain a higher level of knowledge? 12 years of free schooling was so that children could come out from high school and get a decent job, but does it work that way now? How far does one need to go just to fulfill ones desire for knowledge? Isn’t it humanity’s ultimate goal to be on constant pursuit of knowledge?

What does it mean to be successful?
What is success? Getting straight A’s? Earning lots of money? Achieving a high status in a big corporation? Starting a successful company? What happens after you achieve those things? Why did you define such things as “successful”? When did dreams become so shallow and materialistic? Isn’t living a happy life and having your health enough? What was your childhood dream? Have you become the one you wanted to become? Do you have a current dream? What do you see on the horizon? Is it a future you want? Is it a future you want your children to be in?

What does it mean to trust?
On what basis do we choose to trust or not to trust? What makes a person trustworthy? Not trustworthy? Since when have we chosen to not trust people as much as before? Keeping our doors locked? Keeping our cars locked? Keeping our hearts locked? Why do we doubt what people say? Can we trust everything we hear on the radio, watch on the news and read on newspapers? Why can’t we be more honest with ourselves? Why write $3.99 instead of $4? Why do we need contracts that are so complicated and detailed, just to buy a cell phone or sign up for a credit card? Why do we sue people over trivial things?

What’s wrong with loving someone you might not even know?

What’s wrong with being a little fair to everyone?

What’s wrong with sacrificing a little, so that someone will have a slightly easier life?

What’s wrong with trusting people a bit more?
