That's it. I'm sick of all this "Two-Handed Motorized Weapon" bullshit that's going on in the d20 system right now. Chainsaws deserve much better than that. Much, much better than that.
I should know what I'm talking about. I myself commissioned a genuine chainsaw in Canada for $7,990 CAD (that's about $6,700 USD) and have been practicing with it for almost 2 acres now. I can even cut Giant Sequoias with my chainsaw.
Canadian factories spend hours working on a single chainsaw and assemble up to a dozen gears to produce the finest chainsaws known to mankind.
Chainsaws are thrice as fast as hedge trimmers and thrice as weighty for that matter too. Anything an axe can cut through, a chainsaw can cut through better. I'm pretty sure a chainsaw could easily fell a bicentennial Eucalyptus with a simple horizontal slash.
Ever wonder why medieval Europe never bothered making wooden castles? That's right, they were too scared of logging using axes only. Even in the Ninth Crusade, Crusaders would set fire to wooden enemy barracks first, because Mamluk lumberjacks were feared and respected.
So what am I saying? Chainsaws are simply the best tree-cutting utensil that the world has ever seen, and thus, require better stats in the d20 system. Here is the stat block I propose for chainsaws:
(One-Handed Motorized Weapon)
Targeted creature dies
(Two-Handed Motorized Weapon)
Targeted creature dies twice
Now that seems a lot more representative of the logging power of chainsaws in real life, don't you think?
tl;dr = chainsaws need to do more damage in d20, see my new stat block.

Wooden logs drifting across the blue sky. They meet a wing of cocks also drifting across the blue sky. Fancy that.
