"Why do you care, anyway?" Shadow asked, raising a brow.
"Uh.. No reason.." Sonic muttered. He looked ahead of him, narrily avoiding a tree.
"Sonic.. What's wrong? You obviously seem distracted.." Shadow said, putting a hand on the blue hedgehog's shoulder, stopping them both.
Sonic looked up at him. He didn't want to say 'Oh.. I was thinking about how wonderful you are.. How cute you look..' He would have to just ignore the question, because he wasn't the best liar. "Uh.. Nothing. Why?" He asked with a fake smile.
"Sonic.. Tell me what's on your mind.." He said a little softer, NEEDING to know.
"Shadow.. I'd rather not say." Sonic mumbled, looking down again.
"Please?" Shadow asked, taking his hand back.
"No, Shadow.. Just drop it, alright?" He snapped, not meaning to. When he saw Shadow's reaction, he felt horrible and folded his ears back.
The dark hedgehog was suprised when Sonic snapped at him. He continued to walk, putting his hands in the pocket of his coat.
"Shadow..." Sonic sighed, walking by his side. The blue hedgehog wrapped an arm around Shadow's shoulders and smiled slightly. "Don't worry, alright?" He asked, leaning his head on his counterpart's shoulder.
Shadow nodded absent-mindedly as he felt his muzzle warm up slightly. He looked at the blue hedgehog and slowly leaned his head against Sonic's.
Sonic was wide-eyed when Shadow did this. He didn't say anything, but his smile grew wider, as well as his grip on the dark hedgehog.
Shadow smiled slightly, wrapping an arm around Sonic.
The two soon found themselves standing in front of a beautiful lake and water fall. They let each other go and sat at the waters edge, watching it move. The wind picked up a little, lowering the tempeture. Sonic shivered, running his hands along his arms.
