Really? Why? Is it this way in asian countries or just when they get to America? Let me describe this scenario and follow it with dialogue to get my point across...

I took my car in to be fixed and she's calling me to tell me to pick it up.

"Hello, this Autorite. Mr Scott?"
"Yes?"
"Your car ready, pick up now."
"It's 5:50, I'm at work. I can't. Can I pick it up tomorrow morning?"
"Why you cant pick up Mr Scott? Your car ready. We have no room."
"Because I'm at work right now. What time do you close. I might be able to take off for a bit later and pick it up."
"Liar. You not at work, it's too late. We close at six. Pick up tonight Mr Scott."
"You expect me to get there at 6?! And I work a night job!"
"We have no room Mr Scott"
"Well, I was going to ask this tomorrow, but how much would it be to get my A/C checked out? It's been acting odd."
"No! No A/C check until you pay in full. Why you no want to pick up??"
"I'm at work! You called me ten minutes until you close!"
"Fine Mr Scott. Pick up tomorrow or I charge you storage fees. Bye."
