Anime is not for children!

HAHAHAHAHAHA. Go talk to anyone who actually works in the anime industry who the vast majority of anime shows are targeted for. Guess who they will say? Children and young teens.

In the end, anime is not watched by everyone in japan. It is not mainstream. Manga on the other hand is mainstream within the japanese society.

And yes...it's obvious not everyone in Japan knows what the hell is mainstream.  Just like alot of people in the US may or may not know what is mainstream what.
