Why don't you watch the fucking show and see why everyone who's ever seen it loves it, it goes between being absolutely hilarious to being heartbreaking and it's a good series. However, it was originally a shoujo anime, and a mahou shoujo at that; but its subject matter and the events that take place make it transcend that. I wouldn't plop a six-year-old girl in front of a TV program where the main conflict is that the main character is FUCKING VISIBLY DYING OF WORSENING THROAT CANCER over the course of the 52 episodes
