What is that movie where..

Some chick meets this guy in this small town, and he turns out to be some sort of werewolf and has a weird ass relationship with his mom who is also a werewolf, as his romance with the girl grows, resentment from his mom escalates and then they start to go wolf mode, and I remember a character who was a cop get stabbed in the ear with a pencil, and some scene with the mom and the chick looking at a plant and things getting tense..
