What do you dudes think of it? I think 1 was great (be honest, that's the reason anyone's still watching), 2 and 3 were pretty weak, and 4 is getting back on track.
Things got a little convoluted for a while, like a lot of them got "additions" to their powers. And fucking Sylar has been on every side at some point. It's like the writers get hard for him but can't decide how to keep him around.
Do we know if Hiro's power is back for good, or only when he's around that damn baby? The whole loss of power for him and Peter really bothers me, but it bothers me more not knowing if/ how they will get their season 1 abilities back.
Fuck Heroes, and Battlestar Galactica, and Prison Break, and Lost and all these new fucking shows that destroy themselves by creating more and more progressively convoluted story arcs. This seems to be the new writing style and it's pissing me off. I can't imagine why they're writing these abortions. Sure twists and turns are exciting, but fuck; you can only spend so much time in a maze before you want out. It's possible that the intricacy forces many viewers to pay closer attention.
I used to have a music teacher who was fond of saying "If everything's loud, then nothing is loud." Dynamics is important in storytelling too. They're starting out with the volume on ten and trying to crank it up to twenty. But hey, it's not really about artistic craftsmanship is it? It's about marketing savvy. Thanks for ruining potentially great shows, fuckers.
I feel your pain, Op.
