I remember a long time ago, sometime in the late 80's early 90's there was a educational children's program using puppets/muppets.

All I can remember is there was I think a turtle that loved books, some grouchy person living in a castle, a dragon and two twins girls. The only names I can remember is the twins were Mona and Lisa and the only episode I can remember was where the twins heared some news about the Mona Lisa (painting) and thought it was about them.

I can't remember the name of the show and its just annoying the crap out of me.

Were they Jim Henson style puppets?

I don't know.

I know he didn't do the show as I've already checked all the stuff he's done.

what was the country of origin? remember anything about the theme song, words, lines, catchphrases, stories?

I certainly don't remember the main human character leering at the male characters lustfully.
