So I picked up this Nortel Networks Baystack 70-24T and Nortel Networks Baystack 450-24T Switches from a storage unit auction... rest of the shit in there was garbage clothes and whatever. Anyways I have needed a way to expand how many systems are pluged into the internet for some time and would like to incorporate one or both although I really only need one. Also have a D-Link DI-524- Wireless Router and another random ass wireless router(forget make and model likely the same age)(both 802.11b/g... no n)
Current setup is modem with built in router -> 1:PC 2:PC 3:network phone 4:Printer
from network phone -> wireless router
wireless router via wireless ->many random laptops and one PC and a Xbox 360
On this set up everything has been running smoothly and has internet, but for me, recently, wireless is a little too spotty and with the giant brick walls that divide certain areas of the building I get tired of lagging out of Halo 4 matches or disconnecting from WoW servers due to internet loss...
There are piping systems prebuilt that I have access to and can run hard cable the whole way but i would like to have a clear idea on the best way to hook things up to run both wireless routers and be able to get internet from them and have my 2 other gaming PCs and 2 Xbox 360s and laptops without fucking up the currently working system too hard... network phone only works when pluged directly into the modem (haven't played with the switches yet but they do power on nicely)
Building A has the modem and current hook up as explained the building B has all the shit I wanna hook up in it. Pipe system for running hard wire or wires goes from building A to building B and the rooms where this pipe come up on either end is where the modem is (in BLDG A) and where my shit is (in BLDG B)
What are the best or possible ways to hook everything up and still have it all work?
