Basic Cable Hacking Thread

I am looking for specific information but hell having a thread that has more then the info i am looking for couldn't hurt.

Old skool trick.

If you have scrambled channels this might still work.

Go to the channel you want to view, make every television you have go to that channel, leave them turned on and tuned to that scrambled channel in a few days sometimes just one day the channel will unscramble and come in, it breaks the filter.

Newer trick is to order internet from your cable provider use a splitter to split the coax run one cable to your cable modem and the other to a tv for basic cable.

basically i'm looking for some help in how to configure the outside connection.

there is 10 coax wires out side in the service provider box, they are plugged into two filters.

the filters say they are hd filters they have two connection ports on the top and three on the bottom.

As well three of the wires are labeled, but the labels don't mean anything to me.
