My onboard sound seems to have died, so I went out and bought a new sound card (picture related), but now the sound I have works sometimes, and then it gets distant and tinny. Basically it's not consistantly good/decent quality.
I'm pretty damn sure the problem is because the only PCI slot on the motherboard I have is directly below the PCIe slot, so the fans on my video card are blowing hot air straight onto the sound card itself. My question is, outside of buying a new motherboard (since I have pretty much NO extra money lying around at the moment), is there anything I can do to get sound again? Or am I just fucked?
