baseband radio firmware for htc eris

i have a spare htc eris phone and was hopping someone here could help me find some firmware to turn my phone into a baseband radio allowing me to receive all sent text messages from the nearest cell tower on a giving network.

i have looked and cant find anything besides "its out there".
please help.

so this firmware will allow you to revive text messages from people that you may not even know? How does this work, im confused? I have electric, and comp science in background. I may be able to help you.
