Slackware Wireless Problems

I have a Compqaq Presario CQ61z-300 Notebook PC and I've recently "gone gnu/linux." I have installed and have partitions for Slackware and Mint. My wireless adapter works just fine, but it won't turn on in Slackware. I think that the problem is driver-related.

Any help for a Linux noob?

Sorry, that should say that it works just fine in Mint (I'm using it now).

I've tried to do Iwconfig and Ifconfig, and I've also tried looking for some menu or something in the KDE desktop environment. I'm just using the Slackware64 13.1 DVD with all of the features. I haven't changed anything yet.
