I bought a used Alienware Aurora M9700 laptop last year and it will not boot up any more. When I press the power button the power light comes on, but nothing else happens. If I hold the power button down the hard drive LED and the disc drive LED both flash for a fraction of a second every 5 or so seconds. It will also not turn off on it's own. I have to unplug the power cord and take out the battery in order for it to power off.I took out both video cards, both hard drives, all of the ram, the cmos battery, the disc drive, the wireless card, both the heat sinks and it still would not boot. It did the exact same thing. I then unplugged the touchpad cable, the keyboard cable, the LCD cable, and the webcam cable but it still would not boot. Same story goes for when I reseated every connection. I even applied new thermal compound to the chipset, video cards, and the processor.Is there anything I forgot to check? What could be causing this problem?
