I've never posted a tech support thread before, but my understanding is if you have to make one, it goes here.
I'm not expecting much luck here since I haven't had much luck with google either, but here it goes: I've got Qwest DSL and I'm using the modem/router thing in the title. I've never had a problem forwarding ports until now. I recently bought an Astraweb Usenet account, and while the normal usenet port 119 works fine, I wanted to try and see if SSL worked, which is on port 443. So, typical mundane port forward, right? Or so I thought. I entered the exception into the router's firewall, double checking that I got the right number, the right computer, all that. Then I went to http://www.utorrent.com/testport.php?port= like I usually do to see if the port forward worked.
It didn't.
Not only that, but I noticed none of my other forwards were working anymore, including bittorrent (was on port 25116 by random utorrent config). So I powered things on and off, plugged and unplugged things, reset settings, deleted settings, re-added settings. Nothing stuck. I even turned off the (Windows Vista HP x32) firewall. No change. No other firewall software on this computer. No other routers or access points.
Any ideas?
