Steam Crashes My Vista =(

I have a problem /tech/.

When I startup my Vista Premium PC, I chose my logon and it proceeds to load the startup items and such.

But this is when the problem starts. When STEAM starts to load (the main window shows), my PC stops like a pigeon hitting a concrete wall. Everything stops, I can't click any shortcuts on the desktop, I can't open the start menu and basically all I can do is wait it out (on average, an hour) or hard restart into the same shit.

Help me /tech/. You are my only hope.

Vista is shit. Uninstall it.

Vista is your problem. Vista hates anything you try to install on it.

If they put a pile of steaming bat turds in a box, and distributed it in twenty fruity flavours, that would possibly be close to the fail that is Vista.

Get yourself a decent OS, i reccomend Debian, GREAT community, solve all problems in minutes, FREE!!

then again, if you're loaded get yourself a Mac. never get any problems int he first place, but pay $450 each OSX update...

Running steam on vista is like crafting handgloves out of cow shit and using them to shovel pig shit.

Actually, the Eee PC 900a is on sale at best buy for $155 plus tax. 1gb ram, 4gb ssd, 9" screen, vga out, 3x usb.

boot safe mode. disable steam via msconfig or uninstall.
