Making Music

What are some names of good music making software. I'm not sure exactly what it would be called, but the type that lets you choose different types of instruments.

The only one I can think of is Fruity Loops, but that doesn't mean its any good.  I used to listen to a lot of OC Remixes years ago and that was a name that got thrown around in the writeups a lot of the time.

Sounds like you're looking for a MIDI sequencer. Cakewalk used to be good some years ago but I haven't used it for a long time. Cubase also seems to be very popular.

But for MIDI to sound good you will have to have a good wavetable or some kind of MIDI synthesizer. You won't be happy with the Windows software wavetable.
