What am I getting?

I am getting a laptop soon but currently trying to decide what to buy. I do not however know what I am getting specifications wise because I know nothing of hardware. I am getting this so I can start learning visual basics and video game programming.

If it was me get a good CPU (Centrino) because you need it for compiling and you need about 2GB's of RAM to be on the safe side - Which most laptops have.

For "video game programming" I would think you need a good GFX like ATI or Nvidia - Look for the sticker on the laptop, and stay away from share memory.
