What exactly does is the advantage of it being license-free and royalty-free?
Does that mean graphics card makers have to pay less because because they don't need to pay anything to the dudes who made DVI and as such sell their cards for a cheaper price?
But don't they have to pay license for the obviously needed DisplayPort to DVI or DisplayPort to VGA adapters?
