Retrieving Permanently Deleted Files

Name: Anonymous 2007-02-13 19:46

Ok my friend accidentally deleted all of her pictures and wants to know if it's possible to get them back and, if so, how to do it.

What OS and filesystem?  Well regardless, if she's still using the computer, they've probably already been overwritten, meaning she's shit outta luck.  If she shut down the computer immediately and hasn't touched it since, it's certainly possible to recover.  Otherwise, she's screwed.

"Ok, I sold my hot friend a new computer and she gave me her old one. How I do restore the naked pictures of her?" fix'd? I've been there buddy! hahah

Anyway, there are a few programs that can help with that.

1. Ontrack Easy Recovery is a "FREE" (yeah, ...free) program that works very well. I've recovered files from recently formatted hard drives due to crashes and what-not.  I believe it also does deleted files. I think it works on any file system, too.

2. Another nice program... tis time FOR REAL FREE is called "RESTORATION". Link provided. It does an okay job. But you'll know what I mean after you use it when I say it has no 'structure'. Only works in Windows I think.

Good luck!

Ok, awsome ill tell them about those, thanx a ton ^___^, also I know that there is a way to check on what happened when and what got deleted etc. on a gateway laptop MX6453, she brought it in when she first got it b/c something screwed up and a "Green dog guy" or whatever they are called at circuit city ( kinda like geek squard ) pulled it up and found when my friend deleted something needed. So if anyone has info plz and thanx ><

Hmm, 'when' it was deleted. That reminds me of another program called Undelete.  I think Norton once-upon-a-time had something like that, too.

Good luck :)
