Crazy Graphics Glitches with EVGA 7900GT

Name: Anonymous 2007-01-23 13:02

I've read that EVGA screwed the pooch with their manufacturing of the 7900GT, and I think I'm starting to see mine fail big time. Playing any game for more than a few hours causes huge crazy tearing and artifacts all over the screen. WoW looks like an acid trip, and CoH stretches all the units out to crazy proportions.

Am I right in assuming these are because my card is failing, and not due to some other mystical cause?

I'm looking to replace my 7900GT with a 7900GS instead. Just wanted to know if anyone out there knew if this was the correct solution.

Since a few gamers will read this and your question seems answered I'd like to add one of my own.
I own one game (Crimson Skies) which worked OK with W2K. I tried it last night using XP Pro, the Microsoft download/update for the game on the same Radeon card I'd used with W2K. The sucker blue screened on me. I reset it to act like W2K and while it ran better it was still sort of crashy.
Also curious if the Logitech driver will make a real difference with my joystick? I left a Gravix driver in place and just set up the buttons and x/y axix's.
