So after a nearly exhaustive internet search, I have discovered that it costs $100 less to get a PC with Windows Vista than it does to get one for Ubuntu or no OS (with otherwise same specs). Prove me wrong! This is crazy!

It shouldn't cost $100 less to get one with no system at all. As far as I've heard, you're able to get the included cost of Windows deducted by either the store or the government (yes, I actually read of someone who had it returned from the gov't like companies get sales tax back because he didn't want Windows with his machine).
