Yet another HDTV question

I'm buying an HDTV with a native resolution of 1366 X 768.  Will watching a show in 1080i look much different from 720?  Does 1080i/p look distorted on a tv that doesn't have a native resolution of 1920 x 1080?

So a 1080 picture downscaled to 720 still only has (something) by 720 lines of picture, right?
